So, why a blog?
Partially for egotistical reasons I suppose, because I like to pretend that my writing makes some sort of impact and leaves some kind of mark upon the world.
Partially for personal reasons, because I'm not writing a lot lately (indeed, I no longer even think of myself as 'a writer', as opposed to five or six years ago; these days I'm not even sure if my self-image has a sharp-edged identity at all, or if I'm some sort of soft-focus collage of identities instead).
Partially because it seems like something fun to do.
Partially because I'm hopelessly enamoured of the Beat Generation who wrote about their own lives and loves and turned them into fiction.
Partially because I've always been a follower rather than a trendsetter,
and creating a blog five years ago would have been far too radical a thing to do. ;-)
Lastly, because, well, why the hell not?
